The administrator in YaPanel: account, password and two-factor

This guide is for the operator of the YaPanel software (the business owner), not for end customers. The administrator account signs in through the same panel login, requires two-factor authentication with an authenticator app (mandatory: that account touches the money and every customer's data), and its password and personal details are changed in the same panel Settings, which the admin menu links to directly.
Who is this guide for?
For the operator of the YaPanel software: the business owner who manages domains, customers and billing. If you are a customer of a business that runs YaPanel, this guide is not for you — yours is Your account settings.
How the administrator signs in
- Through the same panel login, with their administrator email and password.
- The first time, the system requires enabling two-factor: open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy), add the account with the code on screen and enter the 6 digits.
- From then on, every entry into administration asks for the app code. It is mandatory: that account touches the money and every customer's data.
Changing the administrator password
In the same panel Settings (the admin menu has the "⚙ Settings" shortcut). Enter the current password and the new one — changing it signs out every other open session.
Good practices
- The administrator email should be the official business mailbox: support notices arrive there too.
- Long password from a password manager, never reused.
- Two-factor is not shared: each administrator has their own account and app.
Frequently asked questions
Can I disable the administrator's two-factor?
No. It is mandatory by design: an account that manages money and customer data cannot rely on a password alone.
What if I lose the phone with the authenticator app?
Another administrator can help you from the panel, or the installation operator can reset two-factor from the database. Keep your app's backup codes.
Does the administrator also get security notices?
Yes: password or email changes on their account arrive by email, like any account.
